My Priorities

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines.

    Building Our City

A strong city depends on the people who keep it running. We need to invest in workers, families, artists, small businesses, and the everyday systems that make Portland livable.

    Growing Our Community

When neighbors know each other, the social fabric gets stronger. We should support neighborhood connection, civic participation, and public spaces where people can gather and belong.

    Keeping Us Safe

Safety starts with connection — knowing whom to call, feeling heard, and getting help before things break down. We need stronger community response systems and better support before crisis becomes harm.

    Caring for Our Coast

We can’t claim to love this place and keep treating it like a trash can. We need cleaner streets and shorelines, stronger stewardship, and real accountability for protecting Portland’s coast and ocean.

  • Housing That Works

Portland should be a place people can stay — not just visit. We need to streamline the permitting process, allow for more responsible density, and build housing that people actually need, so Portlanders can remain in Portland.

Who I Am:

I’m a mental health clinician, community advocate, and creative with more than twenty years of experience helping people find stability, connection, and opportunity.

My work has spanned mental health, justice, education, and the arts, with a focus on bringing people together and helping public systems serve communities more effectively. Earlier in my career, I helped create Young Adult Court, an innovative model that gave young adults a second chance through counseling, job support, and coordinated care.

My roots in Portland are real—in my home, my family, and my years of service to this city. My wife and I bought our home here in 2018, and our daughter was born here in 2020. Since then, I’ve worked alongside neighbors, nonprofits, and public agencies to help make Portland more connected, compassionate, and responsive.

In Maine, I’ve supported individuals and families through some of life’s most complex challenges, including reentry after incarceration, criminal mental health cases, and parenting capacity matters through my work in forensic services.

I’ve also worked to strengthen community life through the arts. As Co-Director of Community Programs at Portland Ovations, I brought together artists, students, and neighbors to share stories, deepen connection, and build belonging.

I serve on the boards of the Cultural Alliance of Maine, Avesta Housing, and Portland Ovations, and I’m part of the advisory circle at Indigo Arts Alliance. I’m also a graduate of Leadership Portland 2022.

I hold a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco, with undergraduate degrees in Sociology from San Francisco State University and Pan African Studies from Cal State Northridge. I am also certified as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician (MHRT-C).

I believe Portland is strongest when every person is heard, every family has the chance to thrive, and our systems work with people—not around them.
